Movie Characters on
Tinder vs Reality
What happens when your favorite movie characters create dating profiles? The bios are immaculate. The photos are curated. The dates are catastrophic. Eleven iconic characters. Zero second dates. Three restraining orders. One Sith Lord who can't eat through his mask.
The Lineup
Every Profile. Every Disaster.
Each one features a full dating profile, a first-date narrative, and a body count of red flags that would make any therapist retire on the spot.
The Dating App Disclaimer
Things we learned from reviewing all 11 profiles.
"Entrepreneur" Means Different Things
Tony Stark means billionaire weapons manufacturer turned superhero. Jack Sparrow means pirate who has been fired from every ship he's ever captained. Shrek means he owns a swamp. Technically they're all self-employed.
Age Verification Is a Problem
Gandalf is 2,019. Thor is 1,500. Aragorn is 87. Darth Vader is technically in his 40s but the suit adds 30 years. Tinder's age slider was not built for this.
"Looking for Something Casual"
Batman means he will disappear mid-appetizer to fight crime. Jack Sparrow means he will disappear mid-appetizer because someone recognized him. Gandalf means he will show up to a different date three movies from now.
Profile Photos Are All Misleading
Batman crops out the cowl. Darth Vader's "sunset photo" is Mustafar (it's lava). Shrek has one blurry photo. Jack Sparrow is visibly running from something in every picture. Thor looks great but he's holding a hammer in all of them.
I swiped right on a guy whose bio said ‘philanthropist, night owl, has a cave.’
He cancelled four times, showed up with a bruise, and his butler texted him during dinner about "preparing the cave."
“He said he was in management. He manages a galactic empire through fear and telekinesis. That's not what management means on LinkedIn.”
