Spotify Wrapped 2025
Shrek's
Spotify Wrapped
34,000 minutes. All Star by Smash Mouth. Top genre: Swamp Rock (a genre Spotify invented specifically for him). Donkey added 847 songs to their shared playlist. Shrek removed 847 songs. His guilty pleasure is Taylor Swift and if you tell Donkey he will make your life very difficult.
Your Top Songs
Shrek's Top 5
Two Smash Mouth songs, one emotional ballad, and two different types of swamp sounds. This is the most Shrek playlist possible.
All Star
Smash Mouth
Obviously. This is the most obvious number one in the history of Spotify Wrapped. Shrek’s entire identity was introduced with this song. He’s tried to stop listening to it. He has failed. Every time he opens Spotify, the algorithm recommends it. Every time Donkey visits, Donkey plays it. Every time Fiona asks what he wants to listen to, he says “anything” and she puts on All Star because she knows. He is trapped in a feedback loop of All Star. He has accepted this. The years start coming and they don’t stop coming.
I'm a Believer
Smash Mouth
The Smash Mouth cover, not the Monkees original, because Shrek is loyal to the brand. He discovered it at the end of his first adventure with Fiona and it has been in his rotation ever since. Donkey claims this is “their song” meaning Shrek and Donkey’s song. Shrek has clarified multiple times that it is his and Fiona’s song. Donkey does not accept this clarification. They have been arguing about it for years. The song plays during the argument. Neither of them pauses it.
Hallelujah
Rufus Wainwright
The emotional core of Shrek’s Spotify. He plays Hallelujah while sitting alone in his swamp at sunset, looking out over the murky water, thinking about the life he’s built. It’s genuinely beautiful. The first time Fiona caught him listening to it, she cried. Donkey caught him the second time and tried to harmonize. Shrek threw a log at him. Donkey claims he was “mid-note” and it was his “best performance.” It was not.
My Swamp
Nature Sounds Collective
A nature sounds album consisting entirely of swamp ambiance: frogs croaking, water bubbling, crickets chirping, and the occasional mud squelch. Shrek listens to this when he’s away from the swamp and feeling homesick. It’s categorized under “Ambient / Nature / Relaxation” on Spotify but Shrek categorized it as “Home.” The album has 3 total listeners. Shrek accounts for 97% of the streams. The other 3% is from a wildlife research station in Louisiana that found it by accident.
Stay Out of My Swamp
White Noise Lab
A 10-hour white noise track that Shrek plays at night. It’s not specifically swamp-themed. It’s generic white noise. But Shrek renamed it in his library to “Stay Out of My Swamp” and plays it as a form of auditory territorial defense. He believes the white noise deters visitors. It does not. Donkey shows up anyway. Donkey shows up every single time. The white noise has never once deterred Donkey. Shrek continues to play it. Hope is a powerful thing.
Your Top Artists
Swamp-Approved Musicians
Smash Mouth
4,750 plays. Shrek is Smash Mouth’s number one listener and he is not happy about it. He has tried listening to other bands. The algorithm pulls him back. Smash Mouth is his destiny. He has accepted it the way he accepted being an ogre. With resignation and occasional anger.
Nature Sounds Collective
1,400 plays. Exclusively swamp-themed nature recordings. Shrek once left a review on the artist’s page that said “Accurate but missing the specific mud consistency of my personal swamp.” The artist responded. They are now in a DM conversation about swamp acoustics.
Rufus Wainwright
1,200 plays. Only Hallelujah. Shrek has not explored the rest of Rufus Wainwright’s discography and has no plans to. “One song is enough. Just like one swamp is enough.”
White Noise Lab
870 plays. A single 10-hour track played on repeat every night. Shrek does not know who White Noise Lab is. He does not care. The noise serves its purpose. (It does not serve its purpose.)
Taylor Swift
340 plays. This is Shrek’s guilty pleasure and the fact that it’s on his Wrapped has caused him significant emotional distress. He blames Fiona. Fiona says she only played Taylor Swift twice. The other 338 plays were from Shrek’s account while he was “alone in the swamp.” He has no explanation for this.

The Complete Wrapped
Top Genre
Swamp Rock
Spotify does not have a genre called “Swamp Rock” but Shrek’s listening patterns created one. The algorithm analyzed his combination of Smash Mouth, nature sounds, swamp ambiance, and Southern rock and generated a custom genre that applies to exactly one user. Spotify’s genre team debated whether to add it officially. They decided against it. Shrek was not consulted.
Minutes Listened
34,000 (mostly Do Not Disturb)
34,000 minutes but Shrek had Do Not Disturb mode enabled for approximately 28,000 of those minutes. He does not want to be recommended songs. He does not want to see what’s trending. He does not want Spotify to tell him that people who like Smash Mouth also like Bowling for Soup. He wants to listen to All Star in peace. Do Not Disturb mode is the most important feature Spotify has ever built, according to Shrek.
Listening Personality
Solitary Swamp Listener
Spotify analyzed Shrek’s listening habits and identified the following patterns: listens exclusively alone, enables Do Not Disturb immediately upon opening the app, has blocked 14 collaborative playlist invitations (all from Donkey), and has never once used the “Share” button. The resulting personality type is Solitary Swamp Listener, which is defined as “someone who treats music as a privacy boundary.”
Most Replayed Song
All Star — Smash Mouth
2,847 plays. Shrek’s relationship with All Star is complicated. He loves it. He hates that he loves it. He has tried to replace it with other songs. He cannot. When Donkey asked him what his most-played song was, Shrek said “none of your business.” Donkey guessed All Star on the first try. Shrek did not confirm. His face confirmed.
Guilty Pleasure
Taylor Swift
Shrek has listened to Taylor Swift 340 times this year. Shake It Off: 89 plays. Love Story: 76 plays. Anti-Hero: 62 plays. He listens exclusively when Fiona and Donkey are not around. He closes all the shutters in the swamp house. He locks the door. He plays Taylor Swift at medium volume (he’s not an animal about it). When the song ends, he deletes it from his recent activity. Spotify Wrapped does not care about deleted activity. Spotify Wrapped sees all.
Audio Aura
Green and Brown
Spotify’s audio aura for Shrek is green and brown, which is the color of his skin and the color of his swamp. Spotify’s design team said it was “the most earthy aura they had ever generated.” Shrek said “that’s not an aura, that’s just what I look like.” This is technically accurate.
The Ongoing Conflict
The Playlist War: A Timeline
847 songs added. 847 songs removed. A perfect 1:1 ratio maintained across an entire calendar year.
Donkey creates shared playlist called “Shrek & Donkey’s ULTIMATE ROAD TRIP MIX.” Adds 47 songs. All Eddie Murphy. Shrek removes all 47 songs.
Donkey adds “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story. Shrek removes it and sends a message: “We are not friends.” Donkey adds it again with the note: “but we ARE tho.”
Donkey adds 200 songs in one day as an April Fools joke. All 200 songs are different versions of “All Star.” Shrek removes 199 of them. He keeps the acoustic version. He will never admit this.
Donkey adds “Lean on Me.” Shrek listens to it once before removing it. He did not dislike it. He removed it on principle.
Donkey adds the entire Shrek 2 soundtrack. Shrek removes everything except “Holding Out for a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler. He plays it 34 times. He removes it. He adds it back 3 days later.
Donkey adds “Monster Mash.” Shrek allows it to stay for 24 hours. This is the longest any Donkey-added song has survived. Donkey calls this “a breakthrough.”
Donkey adds “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. Shrek removes it within 4 minutes. This is Donkey’s fastest removal. He considers it a personal record.
Final tally: 847 songs added by Donkey. 847 songs removed by Shrek. A perfect 1:1 ratio. Spotify’s engineering team has considered adding a “Swamp Mode” feature that auto-removes songs added by specific users. Shrek has expressed interest.
