Elsa's
Spotify Wrapped

95,000 minutes of listening. Let It Go played 8,000 times. She's aware. She can't stop. Ice Ice Baby is in her top 5 as "ironic appreciation" (it's not ironic). Guilty pleasure: Hot in Herre by Nelly. Anna keeps sharing pop playlists and Elsa listens to every single one but will not admit it under any circumstances.

Elsa's Top 5

Every song is either about ice, cold, snow, or being frozen. She is aware of the pattern. She does not plan to change it.

#18,000 plays

Let It Go

Idina Menzel (from Frozen)

Eight. Thousand. Plays. Elsa is aware this is her song. She is aware she sang it. She is aware she built an entire ice castle during the bridge. She cannot stop listening to it. Every time she tries to move on to another song, the chorus plays in her head and she switches back. Spotify’s algorithm no longer even tries to recommend other songs at this point. Her entire Discover Weekly is just Let It Go in different languages. She’s listened to the Japanese version 340 times. The Spanish version 289 times. The Czech version once, by accident, but she liked it. She will never escape this song. She has let everything go except this song.

#22,400 plays

Cold as Ice

Foreigner

The on-the-nose factor is through the roof and Elsa does not care. She considers Foreigner to be deeply underrated. When Kristoff told her the song was “a little obvious,” she froze his sled runners together. He has not commented on her music since. She plays Cold as Ice when she’s working on ice architecture, which is essentially all the time. She considers it a “workout song for my powers.” Olaf likes it too but he doesn’t understand the lyrics because he is a snowman.

#31,847 plays

Ice Ice Baby

Vanilla Ice

Elsa maintains this is “ironic appreciation.” It is not. She genuinely enjoys Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice and has for years. She knows every word. She has performed it at private ice shows in her palace with Olaf as the hype man. Anna walked in during one of these performances and Elsa froze the door shut and pretended nothing happened. Anna has photographic evidence. Elsa has threatened to create an eternal winter if the photos surface. The photos have not surfaced. Yet.

#41,200 plays

Frozen

Madonna

Madonna released a song called Frozen in 1998 and Elsa considers this a tribute to herself, despite the timeline making this impossible. She listens to it during quiet evenings in the ice palace and considers Madonna a “kindred spirit who understands isolation.” Kristoff pointed out that Madonna lives in a mansion in London, not a self-imposed ice fortress. Elsa said “we all have our palaces” and turned the song up. The conversation was over.

#5980 plays

Snow (Hey Oh)

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Elsa discovered the Red Hot Chili Peppers through this song and was initially confused by the band name. “Red Hot” and “Chili Peppers” are not concepts she associates with positively. But the song is called Snow and it’s actually quite good, so she added it. She has not explored the rest of their discography because songs titled “Give It Away” and “Under the Bridge” did not resonate with someone who lives alone in an ice castle. Scar Tissue made her uncomfortable for reasons she could not articulate.

Your Top Artists

Ice-Approved Artists

#1

Idina Menzel

8,400 plays. Almost entirely Let It Go. Elsa has also listened to Defying Gravity from Wicked 200 times because “it speaks to my experience of being misunderstood.” She and Elphaba would be friends. They would not be fun to be around.

#2

Foreigner

2,800 plays. Cold as Ice and I Want to Know What Love Is. The second song is more emotional than Elsa would like to admit. She plays it on the ice palace balcony at sunset. Olaf once asked “Do you want to know what love is?” and Elsa said “Please stop.”

#3

Vanilla Ice

1,847 plays. Exclusively Ice Ice Baby. She has never listened to another Vanilla Ice song and does not intend to. One song is enough. It’s not even a good song. She knows this. She doesn’t care. Stop, collaborate, and listen.

#4

Madonna

1,600 plays. Frozen and Material Girl. Elsa was initially horrified by Material Girl but after listening to it 12 times she reluctantly admitted it was “catchy but philosophically empty.” She has now listened to it 400 times.

#5

Red Hot Chili Peppers

980 plays. Snow (Hey Oh) only. When Spotify recommended “Californication” she said “absolutely not” and closed the app. She considers the Red Hot Chili Peppers a “one-song relationship.” The Chili Peppers would probably respect this.

Full Breakdown

The Complete Wrapped

Top Genre

Power Ballads

74% Power Ballads, 12% Ice-Themed Rock, 8% Musical Theater, 4% Pop (secretly via Anna’s playlists), 2% Nelly (she will not discuss this). The Power Ballads genre fits Elsa perfectly because every aspect of her life is dramatic, emotional, and involves holding a sustained high note while lights change color.

Minutes Listened

95,000

95,000 minutes of listening. She lives alone in an ice palace with a sentient snowman. There is not much else to do. The acoustics in the ice palace are extraordinary, which she considers the primary benefit of self-imposed isolation. Every song echoes beautifully off the crystalline walls. Olaf describes the listening experience as “like being inside a snow globe that plays music,” which is actually a perfect description.

Listening Personality

Isolated Power Vocalist

Spotify analyzed Elsa’s listening patterns and generated a personality type that combines isolation, power, and vocal performances. Isolated Power Vocalist. Characteristics: listens exclusively alone (even when Olaf is present, she considers herself alone), only likes songs with strong female vocals, and has never once used the “Listening Party” feature because parties require other people and Elsa left her last party by running across a frozen fjord.

Most Replayed Song

Let It Go — Idina Menzel

8,000 plays. This number is not a typo. Elsa listens to Let It Go an average of 22 times per day. She sings along every time. The ice palace physically responds to her singing — walls grow, crystals form, the architecture shifts. Olaf has noted that the palace is 340% larger than it was when she first built it, entirely due to her singing Let It Go repeatedly. At this rate, the palace will be visible from space by next year.

Guilty Pleasure

Hot in Herre — Nelly

Elsa. The Ice Queen. The woman who plunged an entire kingdom into eternal winter. Has listened to Hot in Herre by Nelly 189 times this year. The song is about being hot. Elsa is never hot. She is literally always cold. She creates cold. She IS cold. And yet, Hot in Herre is in her listening history, played almost exclusively between 11 PM and 2 AM when she assumes no one is monitoring her Spotify activity. She is wrong. Spotify Wrapped sees everything. When Anna eventually sees this, she will not stop laughing for a calendar year.

Audio Aura

Ice Blue and White

Spotify’s audio aura for Elsa is ice blue and white, which is essentially the color palette of her entire existence, her palace, her dress, her powers, and now apparently her music taste. The visualization is the most visually striking aura Spotify’s team has ever generated. It looks like a frozen lake at dawn. They offered to use it as a Spotify marketing asset. Elsa declined. She does not need the exposure. She is literally a queen.

The Sister Dynamic

Anna’s Shared Playlists: A Secret History

Anna shares pop playlists with Elsa constantly. Elsa never responds. Elsa listens to every single one.

ELSA YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS

47 songs. Mostly Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa.

Elsa opened it within 3 minutes. Listened to the entire thing. Did not respond to Anna’s follow-up message asking if she liked it. She liked it.

Sisters Road Trip Mix!!!

62 songs. Pop, dance, feel-good anthems.

Elsa texted back “I don’t do road trips” then listened to the playlist three times in a row while sitting alone in her ice palace. She added four songs to her private library.

Songs That Remind Me of You <3

20 songs. Emotional. Mostly about siblings and love.

Elsa listened once. Cried. The entire north wing of the palace froze over. She texted Anna “it was fine” which in Elsa language means it destroyed her emotionally.

BOPS ONLY NO SAD SONGS

30 songs. Lizzo, Beyoncé, Cardi B.

Elsa was skeptical. She played WAP by accident, froze her phone in shock, had to thaw it for 20 minutes, then quietly added Lizzo’s Good as Hell to her private playlist. She will never tell Anna this.

Elsa’s Chill Mix (Get It? Chill?)

25 songs. Ice-themed puns in every song title.

Elsa responded: “This is not funny.” She listened to it four times. She thought it was funny.

Her Playlist

Songs to Build Ice Castles To

Elsa’s primary playlist. 34 songs. All dramatic. All powerful. The playlist cover is a photo of her ice palace at dawn, which she took herself and considers “adequate.”

The cold never bothered me anyway.

But apparently Hot in Herre by Nelly does. In a good way. Please don't tell Anna.
