Claude Code Day 1: Three Content Areas in One Session

What I Built Today

  • Miami Beach Kiteboarding page (/kiteboarding) — Full advocacy page with Chris Bobryk's story, Save Crandon Park / MKB petition, spots guide for 5 locations, gear guide with Amazon affiliate links, and a personal "Why I Kite" section
  • Take Your Seat page (/take-your-seat) — Promotional page for Randy VanDerStarren's global photography project. 40,000+ photos, 33 countries, one red director's chair. The message: you are the director of your life.
  • Claude Code guide page (/claude-code) — Standalone guide documenting what Claude Code is, what I've built with it, daily accomplishment log, workflow tips, and why this matters
  • This blog post — First entry in what will be a daily log of what Claude Code helps me build
  • Navigation updates — Added Kiteboarding to the site nav, added it as a card on the Miami Beach hub page, linked Claude Code from the Tools page

How Claude Code Helped

All five items above were built in a single Claude Code session. I described the pages I wanted, referenced existing patterns in the codebase (like the Mark Sisson product page and the Miami Beach hub), and Claude Code built each page from scratch — complete with SEO metadata, JSON-LD structured data, motion animations, affiliate links, and cross-linking.

The kiteboarding page alone has 7 major sections with structured data arrays, Amazon affiliate integration, and an advocacy petition CTA. That would have taken me a full day to build by hand. Claude Code did it in minutes.

Stats

  • New pages created: 3
  • Blog posts created: 1
  • Files modified: 3 (nav, Miami Beach hub, Tools page)
  • Total new content: ~1,500 lines of production-ready code
  • Time: One session

The Takeaway

This is Day 1 of documenting what Claude Code can do. The goal is simple: show, don't tell. Every day I build with this tool, I'll log what was accomplished. The receipts speak for themselves.
