The Review

Lost was the most addictive television show ever made. J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof, and Carlton Cuse created a mystery so compelling that it turned the internet into a collective detective agency. The show pioneered the flashback structure, the mythology-driven narrative, and the concept of the 'puzzle box' series that dozens of subsequent shows have tried to replicate. The pilot is the most expensive and thrilling series premiere ever filmed. 'The Constant' is a perfect episode. The show's divisive ending cannot erase the fact that for six years, Lost was the most exciting thing on television.

Fun Fact

The pilot episode cost between $10 and $14 million, making it the most expensive television pilot ever produced at the time — and got the ABC executive who greenlit it fired.
