Friday Night Lights is the most emotionally authentic drama in television history. The show about high school football in small-town Texas transcends its sports premise to become a deeply moving portrait of community, marriage, and adolescence. Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton's Eric and Tami Taylor are the best marriage in television. The show's handheld documentary style gives it an intimacy that no other drama has matched.
Fun Fact
Much of the show's dialogue was improvised. Director Peter Berg encouraged actors to throw away the script and react naturally, giving the show its distinctive unscripted feel.
