The Review

Curb Your Enthusiasm is Larry David unfiltered, unscripted, and unleashed. The show takes the social observation that made Seinfeld great and removes every safety net: no laugh track, no studio audience, no scripts, and a protagonist who says the things everyone thinks but no one dares say out loud. David plays a heightened version of himself who is simultaneously the most reasonable and most insufferable man alive. The improvisational format gives the show an authenticity that scripted comedy cannot replicate. Over twelve seasons, Curb never stopped being funny, never stopped being relevant, and never stopped making audiences squirm.

Fun Fact

The show is almost entirely improvised. Larry David provides the cast with a scene outline — usually just a few sentences — and the actors create all dialogue on the spot.
