The Review

Breaking Bad is the most perfectly constructed television series ever made. Vince Gilligan's five-season arc — transforming Walter White from a meek chemistry teacher into a methamphetamine kingpin — is executed with a precision that borders on mathematical. Every scene, every line, every shot serves the central thesis: ordinary people are capable of extraordinary evil when pride and desperation collide. Bryan Cranston's performance is the benchmark against which all prestige TV acting is now measured. The show never wastes a frame, never loses momentum, and sticks the landing with a finale that left nothing unresolved.

Fun Fact

Bryan Cranston was so unknown to AMC executives that they initially wanted John Cusack or Matthew Broderick for the role of Walter White.
