Who Is Mark Sisson
Mark Sisson is the godfather of the ancestral health movement. He was an elite endurance athlete — 5th place at the 1980 U.S. Marathon Championships, 4th at the 1982 Hawaii Ironman World Championship — before the chronic cardio nearly destroyed his body. That crisis led him to question everything conventional wisdom told us about health, diet, and fitness.
In 2006, he launched Mark's Daily Apple, which became the #1 alternative health blog on the internet. In 2009, he published The Primal Blueprint, which turbo-charged the ancestral/paleo movement from a fringe idea into a mainstream lifestyle. The book spent seven years at the top of the primal/paleo charts.
Then he started building products. Primal Kitchen launched in 2015 with the first avocado oil mayo — it became the #1 selling mayo on Amazon. In 2018, Kraft-Heinz acquired Primal Kitchen. Most people would retire. Mark started a shoe company instead.
Peluva is his latest venture — barefoot-inspired shoes with five individual toe slots, built with his son Kyle after four years of R&D. Mark is in his 70s and looks like he could outrun most 30-year-olds. The guy practices what he preaches.

Why I Respect This Guy
Mark Sisson is one of those rare people who lives exactly what he teaches. He was a world-class endurance athlete who had the intellectual honesty to admit the thing he dedicated his life to was destroying his body. Then he rebuilt everything from first principles.
He built the #1 health blog. Wrote the book that defined a movement. Created a food brand so good that Kraft-Heinz bought it. Then in his late 60s he started a shoe company because he wasn't done yet. The guy is in his 70s and looks better than most people in their 30s.
That's the kind of person I want to learn from. Someone who questioned the conventional wisdom, bet on himself, and proved it with decades of results.
