We take an estimated annual net worth change (based on stock performance and asset appreciation) and divide by 31,557,600 seconds in a year (365.25 days). For example, if someone's net worth grew $50 billion in a year, that's roughly $1,584 per second.
It varies year to year based on stock market performance. In recent big years, Elon Musk has topped the list due to Tesla and SpaceX valuations, sometimes exceeding $5,000 per second in net worth growth. Jensen Huang of NVIDIA has also seen extraordinary per-second gains during the AI boom.
