Best Value Stocks

Value investing rewards patience. The biggest opportunities hide where the market has given up — beaten-down banks, out-of-favor industrials, and policy-driven special situations. FNMA and FMCC remain the most asymmetric bets in the market if conservatorship ends. BAC and WFC trade at reasonable multiples relative to earnings power.

Selection Criteria

  • Price-to-earnings ratio below sector average
  • Price-to-book below 2x or identifiable asset discount
  • Identifiable catalyst for value realization (buyback, restructuring, policy change)
  • Strong balance sheet that supports waiting for the thesis to play out

The Stocks

Value traps are real. Cheap stocks can stay cheap indefinitely. This is not financial advice.
