Best Stocks to Hold Forever

The best investment strategy for most people is to buy world-class businesses and never sell them. MSFT, AAPL, AMZN, GOOGL, COST, and V all have one thing in common: they grow earnings year after year, have moats wide enough to last decades, and are so embedded in the economy that their collapse would require a fundamental restructuring of civilization.

Selection Criteria

  • Durable competitive moat (network effects, switching costs, scale economies, or brand)
  • Management team with long-term capital allocation discipline
  • Total addressable market large enough to sustain growth for 20+ more years
  • Business model that improves with scale — margins expand as revenue grows

The Stocks

Even great companies can underperform for extended periods. 'Hold forever' requires conviction through drawdowns. This is not financial advice.
