At this point, verses the same time last year, asserting a perspective while ignoring the key facts is met with far more opposition and cries of outrage. The conversational tide has turned.

Maxine WatersThere will be more people jumping on this bandwagon, but I don’t expect that even after they are reformed and released that some people will accept that the reality that we then live in is an extension of the one we are in today. People, once they find a way, right or wrong, tend to pile into it for fear of admitting wrongness is far greater than just figuring things out and moving on with the advantage while it lasts much less once the time for taking the advantage has passed like water under the bridge. I have first hand experience in dealing with these sorts of people and I’ve fired over 300 at a time. You can’t change people. You have to wait for them to die or you have to stop paying them to propagate baseless ignorance.
So, to answer your question, what is going to happen is that both sides will continue ignoring most of the key elements but there is a new and growing “right” side where people who can figure it out will jump in line behind and the background chorus has already shifted in the mainstream to the “right” side. Sing loud. Sing proud. Continue to trample the loonies while at the same time commending and standing for the greatness that is the American system of correcting misbehavior.
Claims court is the court for adjudicating government takings. Sweeney has used phrases like “joined at the hips” to refer to the relationship of FHFA and Treasury, and it’s pretty clear who they are fu__ing with their pelvic thrusts. Right now, they are murdering time in the court room and procedurally objecting to everything because in truth that’s really their only defense.
In 2012, a prior government director unilaterally decided to give 2013’s world’s most profitable company to his prior government agency, stealing it from mutual funds, pension funds, and small banks making it harder for black people to afford home ownership by following through with his plan to save the federal balance sheet that he created years prior with his goon squad of no-good dooers. If Notre Dame has an ethics course, I recommend skipping it based on the magnitude of what I see.
Time is a tattle tail and someday will come for Fannie and Freddie investors and for the future homebuyers of America, that you can be sure of if there’s anything to be sure of at this point. As you would say, keep the faith.
tim howard question from the blog
How much longer can both sides go ignoring the most key elements of this discussion? Both sides are appearing more and more schizophrenic by refusing to acknowledge a few simple realities. Although they both have their motives, they are producing the same results. They can’t continue to ignore the fact that our government is lawlessly seizing two private companies profits leaving them grossly undercapitalized much longer. The obvious common sense solutions are beginning to enter the conversation whether they like it or not. Rest assured we will continue to interpret the error of their ways. We will constantly remind both you and them that their actions have no place in a true democracy. We will translate the lies and omissions being made by politicians on both sides of the aisle, our media and our justice system.
We have confirmed that our key allies are more committed than ever in pursuing a responsible reform/release scenario. They are more confident than ever that we will emerge victorious.
